Effect of the factors on the film flow dynamic characteristics by simulation and experiment method     Corrugations on the packing surface are used to affect the dynamic characteristics of the film. The dynamic characteristics of film flowing over corrugated plates were analyzed by simulation and experiment in this research in order to investigate which could benefit the efficiency of heat and mass transfer. The topic of this research is to establish a reliable model which could be applied for various industry devices. In the two-dimension (2-D) and 3-D simulations, a multiphase solver which is in the open-source software OpenFOAM was used to track the free surface position with VOF method. To validate the simulations quantitatively, the velocity profiles in the liquid film field in simulations are compared with the experimental results. The flow field figures of three different types of packing structures, namely, sinusoidal, triangular, and rectangular corrugated plates, in the experiment is really clear and the results fit well with the simulation. In the following simulations, the contrast of the phase difference, film free surface length, and the free surface contour are used to investigate the effect of viscosity, surface tension , inclined angle of the plate, the various shapes of the structure on the film flow. It is found that the best-inclined angle of the corrugated plate is 20 degrees. The change of surface tension of the liquid phase does not influence the flow field obviously, but the viscosity does. And it already found some new structure to promote the mass and heat transfer in film flow.
